Archaic Elements in Mircea Eliade’s “Legionary” Writings. Mircea Handoca collected Mircea Eliade’s articles accused of legionarism in the volume “Legionary” texts and on “Romanianism”. The present paper adopts a neutral attitude towards the Romanian scholar’s political orientation so the question “Was Eliade a legionary?” will not be asked. Our approach is an attempt to detect in these articles the early presence of some ideas that would later emerge in Eliade’s study of the history of religions.en-US
