dc.description	The Ostervald-translation of István Gombási J.-Fr. Ostervald’s very popular and influential work originally written, i.e. compiled in French language about the exercise of the complex pastoral ministry in the church, was also translated into Hungarian by István Gombási and published in Kolozsvár in 1784. In this study, we deal with the purposes, circumstances and history as well as with the reception of this translation, especially with the first volume of the work, which consists of teachings on preaching and catechism. The analysis and detailed presentation of István Gombási’s translation has not been yet discussed in the homiletic research and literature. The results of this presentation should contribute to the urgent revaluation of the epoch from the point of view of history of homiletics and preaching practice.	en-US
