Abstract
Description
Zoltán Kodály is mostly known for his pedagogical concept, however he was also a respected composer. The Seven Piano Pieces is one of his most popular series amongst piano teachers. The compositions are very colourful following different trends of the early 20th century such as the styles of Debussy and Bartók and take inspiration from Hungarian folk music. This article focuses on the presentation and analysis of each piece and points out the connections between them based on the style in which they were written.
