Abstract

Description

What was the attitude of the Church towards the culture and human values in the early centuries? What is the relation between the Church and the world? From the time Christianity aspired a universal propagation and began to spread in the area of the Greek culture, it had to be reformulated in accordance with the categories typical of the Greek thought. This study deals with the encounter of Christianity with Hellenistic culture of the second and third centuries and analyzes the two solutions brought by the fathers of time: partial truths and plagiarism or “furta Graecorum”.
