dc.descriptionThe present study aims to present the work of Kálmán Csomasz Tóth in the field of sacred music. Having had a theological education, and literary and musical studies, following an in-depth and extensive research process, he edited the Reformed hymnal published in Hungary in 1948. In addition to this important work, he has published numerous books, articles, studies in the field of musicology, literary translations, and a few poems in various ecclesiastical and professional journals in Hungary and abroad. The example of Kodály as a composer and the choral singing movement of the 1930s also captivated him and encouraged him to adapt the melodies of the church hymnal. I will hereby present his work and a musical analysis of the choral arrangements pertaining to the melodies of the Genevan Psalter. REZUMAT. CUNOȘTINȚE TEOLOGICE, LITERARE ȘI MUZICALE, TOATE ÎN SLUJBA MUZICII SACRE - PRELUCRĂRILE CORALE ALE PSALMILOR GENEVEZI ÎN COMPONISTICA LUI KÁLMÁN CSOMASZ TÓTH. Studiul de față își propune să prezinte opera lui Kálmán Csomasz Tóth în domeniul muzicii sacre. Având o pregătire teologică, respectiv, studii literare și muzicale, în urma unui proces de cercetare aprofundată și extinsă, a editat imnarul reformat publicat în Ungaria în 1948. Pe lângă această importantă lucrare, a publicat numeroase cărți, articole, studii, traduceri și câteva poezii în diverse reviste ecleziastice și de specialitate în Ungaria și peste hotare. Exemplul lui Kodály ca și compozitor și mișcarea corală din anii 1930 l-au captivat și l-au încurajat să adapteze melodiile din imnarul bisericesc. Voi prezenta în cele ce urmează viața, activitatea lui Kálmán Csomasz Tóth și o analiză muzicală a aranjamentelor corale pe melodii de psalmi genevezi.
