The figure of the mother was a subject of debate in Norwegian literature especially beginning with the 1970s. Although at first the authors insisted upon the role of women in a society in full economic, social and political development, today the emphasis relies on the transparency of family relations. Our intention is to analyze the intergenerational relations that appear in the novel of Vigdis Hjorth, What is happening with mother [Hva er det med mor] and to see to what extent the figure of the mother influences the fate and the moral and psychosomatic development of her girl. REZUMAT. Adolescență și traumă. Relația mama - fiică în Hva er det med mor, de Vigdis Hjorth. Figura mamei a fost subiect de dezbatere în literatura norvegiană, în special începând cu anii 1970. Deși autorii au insistat la început asupra rolului femeilor într-o societate în plină dezvoltare din punct de vedere economic, social și politic, astăzi accentul se pune mai ales pe transparența relațiilor de familie. Tendința de a spune totul despre familie și despre sine a devenit astfel un adevărat fenomen în ultimii ani. Intenția noastră în acest articol este de a analiza relațiile intergeneraționale care apar în romanul lui Vigdis Hjorth, Ce se întâmplă cu mama mea?, pentru a vedea în ce măsură figura mamei influențează soarta și cursul moral și psihosomatic al copilului său.
